my mission
Hello, my name is Reuben or more commonly known as rj._pictures. I am a 16 year old and year 12 student sports photographer and beginner graphic designer. My mission with my sports photography is to show the sides of sports that people do not often see. I intend to take my photography far and plan on making it a career some day.

– Halswell United AFC
My relationship with Halswell extends back to when I used to play for them at an academy level. I am currently a voluntary photographer for them, hoping to be a main photographer at some stage over the next 12 months.
– Christchurch United & CIC
Back in July of 2025 I was the main photographer for Christchurch United’s academy tournament called the Christchurch International Cup (CIC).
Later on in the month I had the privilege to work alongside thomascreativenz to take pictures of the Chatham Cup quarter-final fixture between Christchurch United vs Auckland United.
